Teddi Mellencamp is sharing more bad news amid her terrifying cancer battle. The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills alum—who was diagnosed with multiple brain tumors in February that spread to her lungs—confirmed her cancer has progressed to the most advanced stage.
“I woke up to so many kind messages,” the 43-year-old shared with fans in an April 2 Instagram Stories video. “I just want to say thank you guys so much. So many messages about how strong I am. And I gotta tell you, some days I feel really, really strong and some days I feel really, really sad and alone. And I think that’s a normal part of what any of us are going through, and that’s okay. Stage 4 cancer can be scary.”
Teddi also admitted her ongoing medical treatments to shrink the tumors have been extremely taxing. “Yesterday was the first day I had to do immunotherapy and radiation on the same day,” the Two Ts in a Pod podcast co-host continued, “and I feel so tired and run down. But I know it’s going to get better.” After undergoing brain surgery in February, Teddi—who is mom to kids Slate, 12, Cruz, 10 and Dove, 5, with estranged husband Edwin Arroyave—confessed, “I kinda thought that I had already beaten it.”
Unfortunately, that’s not the case—yet. “And then a couple days later, I found out I had four more tumors,” the reality star shared. “So there’s so many different highs and lows.” Teddi concluded her update on a positive note, telling her followers, “I’m just thinking about all the goals that I have for the future for myself and for my kids.”
The accountability coach also shared a photo of herself undergoing radiation treatment with the caption, “Hopefully saving my life.” And while Teddi—who first shared her melanoma diagnosis in 2022—tries to maintain a positive attitude, she has been thinking more and more about her own mortality as of late.
“I find out for sure exactly where we stand on June 1,” Teddi told Us Weekly in an interview published April 2. “If you need to do another round, if there’s any other surgery, if it’s the end. It’s a hard pill to swallow.” “I want to try new things, travel more with the kids,” she added, “keep building a life and doing the best that we can, and have fun together. That’s my goal.”
